Louver Doors — Aluminium, Steel & Sand Trap, Made in the UAE
Louvered doors are installed in places where ventilation is a criteria. Usually in areas where heat dissipation is a must, these doors provide a passage for air, but no visibility. The louvers can be of different sizes from small units on the top or bottom of doors to almost the entire door size. Since louvers provide a passage for air, which means they provide a passage for fire and hence “on their own” are not fire rated. Fire rated louvers are available which can be installed on fire doors to make the unit fire rated. These louvers have movable flaps which close in the event of a fire due to a fusible link closing a passage for flames.
Features
Metal frames are constructed from top-grade steel, offering durability and strength. These frames are available in various thicknesses of GI sheet, including 1.5mm, 1.8mm, and 2.0mm. Vulcan Steel Frames are known for their superior finish achieved through precise welding techniques, ensuring flawless corners and reinforced anchor bolt provisions. All frames are manufactured with specified reinforcements for ironmongery.
Shutters made from GI steel feature a standard/tested thickness of 1.2mm.Shutters incorporate Honeycomb or Rockwool with steel stiffeners to provide thermal insulation. GI steel frames and shutters are powder coated according to customer specifications, offering Textured, Glossy, Metallic, or Wood finishes.
Fire Rated/Tested Hardware complying to UL/ANSI, BS/CE can be accommodated.

Vulcan Louver Doors
Vulcan manufactures louver doors for some of the most demanding MEP and life-safety applications in the GCC – air handling unit rooms, electrical and switchgear rooms, generator enclosures, telecom rooms and exterior plant areas where airflow needs to keep moving but dust, debris and driving rain cannot.
Every louver door we build is designed around the airflow requirement first. We start with the free area calculation your consultant or MEP designer specifies, then engineer the blade profile, pitch and frame depth to hit it — without rattling, without whistling, and without warping in the Dubai summer.
What we manufacture in-house:
- Aluminium louver doors – powder-coated 6063-T5 extrusions, ideal for plant rooms and external openings. Available in fixed, adjustable and inverted-Y blade profiles.
- Steel louver doors – galvanised or stainless faceplates for heavy-duty industrial and back-of-house openings.
- Sand trap louver doors – multi-stage blade arrangement that drops sand and water out before air enters the room. Standard spec on most Dubai Municipality and Abu Dhabi DMT projects facing prevailing wind directions.
- Fire-rated louver doors – 60-, 90- and 120-minute rated assemblies, tested to BS 476 Part 22 and certified for UAE Civil Defence (UAECD) compliance. Used in MEP shafts, riser cupboards and switchgear rooms where a passive fire barrier is mandated.
- Acoustic louver doors – for generator and chiller enclosures where noise breakout has to stay below project DBA targets.
Standard sizes & lead times:
Single-leaf openings up to 1200 × 2400 mm are available off our standard tooling with a typical 3–4 week lead time. Double-leaf and oversized openings up to 2400 × 3000 mm are built to order in 5–6 weeks. Every door ships with installation drawings, free area calculations and, where applicable, UAECD test certificates.
Where they’re installed:
Vulcan louver doors are specified on commercial towers across Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, JLT and Reem Island; on hospitality projects from Palm Jumeirah to Saadiyat; and on industrial facilities throughout JAFZA, KIZAD and Mussafah. If your specification calls for a louver door, we’ve probably already built one to it.
